Email Notifications are not broken. Not in v1.6.3, not in the current public release and not in any past release of Gravity Forms.

If Email Notifications (Admin or User) are not working then it is going to be a web hosting related configuration issue. If you look on the support forums you will see that is the case in every instance of Email Notifications not working.

It is either going to be a reliability issue with your web host sending email (common with hosts such as GoDaddy), a configuration issue related to security and what Send From email address you can use, or a variety of other web hosting related situations such as not allowing outgoing email via PHP, requiring the use of SMTP to send email via PHP, etc.

If you need assistance determining why your Email Notifications are not working then I suggest you contact the support team. The comments of blog posts aren't a support method so you'll need to use the support forums or the priority support form if you own a Developer License.

However, I can tell you with 100% confidence that the email notifications you are having are not bug related. They are hosting related. Contact support, they'd be glad to assist you in determining what hosting related email issue you are experiencing.

Upgraded to this version after realizing that the "Send notification to user" wasn't work from the last update.

Seems it's still broken in this version as well. Also at least 2 other people have reported the problem in the forums as well.

Publishing to custom post types and pages is possible through hooks as well as the 3rd party Custom Post Types Add-On. However we do plan on implementing this as a native feature later this year. We have held off because of the hard work the 3rd party developer put into the Gravity Forms Custom Post Types Add-On. We didn't want to render his hard work useless so we put it on the back burner last year.

This version will not incorporate TinyMCE in the Paragraph Text field on forms. It only implements the new WordPress editor API for the email notifications. But consider this babysteps towards wider use of this functionality. We do plan on implementing this type of functionality as a Paragraph Text field option down the road. It is on our internal development roadmap.

You are getting that error because it appears you installed Gravity Forms in the wrong folder.

Judging from that error you copied the files to a new folder you created located in wp-content/plugins/gravityforms-3 which is incorrect. Gravity Forms can only be installed in it's wp-content/plugins/gravityforms folder. So based on that error it appears you are trying to activate Gravity Forms from that folder while already having another version of Gravity Forms installed and activated in the correct /wp-content/plugins/gravityforms folder. You can't have multiple instances of Gravity Forms installed.

In the future please post support issues and requests in the support forum. The blog comments aren't monitored by our support team.

Drew, what you describe sounds is a PHP memory issue. Your site is unning out of available PHP memory... which results in the white screen. There is an error, but you don't see it because you don't have debug mode turned on in your wp-config.php file. You need to increase your available PHP memory by following the instructions here:

http://www.nerdgrind.com/increase-wordpress-and-php-memory-limit/

You may need to contact your web host for assistance with this if you aren't sure how to make this change yourself.
