    how does this feature work ? does a user select a username and password ?

    The User Registration Add-On allows you to create a form using Gravity Forms that creates a user. You would add a field on your form for the username and pasword, so yes they would select their username and password. Ultimately the form is made up of whatever fields you add to it. Then the User Registration Add-On let's you enable user registration for that form and configure some user registration related settings.
