Gravity Forms v1.7.8 is now available via automatic update and the downloads page. This is primarily a maintenance and bug fix release and we highly recommend users update. You should always keep your WordPress site up to date.
We aren't big on fanfare or over the top marketing here at Rocketgenius. Our focus is on keeping our heads down and delivering the best plugin in the WordPress community along with the best support to match. However, we seem to have neglected to call out an important milestone that occurred last Saturday, August 24th. Gravity Forms turned 4. Rocketgenius as a company is also turning 5. Time sure does fly!
A lot of companies would have jumped at the opportunity to turn a milestone such as this into some sort of marketing opportunity. Have a big sale, etc. But we truly have our noses to the grindstone to the point that the light bulb didn't go off that we just reached a pretty amazing milestone as a company until I was thinking about it late last night.
On August 24th, 2009 we released Gravity Forms v1.0 to the public.
The Gravity Forms Zapier Add-On was first released on July 15th. Many users aren't quite sure what Zapier is or how they could benefit from using it. It's an extremely powerful service that just about ANY Gravity Forms user could put to work for them. We highly recommend you check it out.
Zapier has a great blog post that outlines how one Gravity Forms user is using Gravity Forms and Zapier to perform a complex automated workflow. You can read the full blog post, along with a screencast showing it in action here: How to Automate a Web Consulting Project from Start to Finish.
Gravity Forms PayPal Payments Standard Add-On v1.9 is now available via automatic update. This is an important compatibility update in response to changes made in PayPal's API. We recommend all PayPal Payments Standard users update as soon as possible.
Gravity Forms PayPal Pro Add-On v1.3 is now available via automatic update and the Add-On Browser. This is a compatibility update in response to a change made to PayPal's API. All PayPal Pro Add-On users should update as soon as possible.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a PayPal Pro Add-On update and not an update to our Add-On for PayPal's newer PayPal Payments Pro product.
Gravity Forms Zapier Add-On v1.1 is now available via automatic update and the Add-On browser. This is an important single fix maintenance update that corrects an issue with multi-input fields and Zapier compatibility.
Don't know what Zapier is? Check it out today! It allows you to quickly and easily integrate Gravity Forms with over 200 different web services and applications. It's an extremely powerful service that we highly recommend.
We have a winner! Gravity Forms user Andrew Bloom of Scottidesign was the first to correctly point out what the new undocumented "easter egg" feature introduced in the Gravity Forms v1.7.7 release was: Enhanced Entry Select All Functionality. Want to learn more about this new feature? Read on!
Gravity Forms MailChimp Add-On v2.3 is now available via automatic update. This is an important compatibility release that is required for updating to Gravity Forms v1.7.7 to maintain compatibility with the change from using the qTip script for tooltips to using the jQuery UI functionality built into WordPress.
We highly recommend all users upgrade to both Gravity Forms v1.7.7 and this new version of the MailChimp Add-On.
Gravity Forms v1.7.7 is now available via automatic update and the downloads page. While vX.X.X releases going forward will only contain updates, bug fixes, refinements and NO new features, v1.7.7 does include some new features. Only vX.X releases will contain new features going forward. On that note, i'm also please to announce that development on Gravity Forms v1.8 has begun!
One of the new features in v1.7.7 is an easter egg! We aren't telling you what it is... yet. The first person to comment on this release announcement and correctly guess what the feature is, will win a free Gravity Forms renewal. Maybe we'll even throw in a free upgrade if you don't already have a Business or Developer License! If nobody guesses correctly, we'll post another blog post at the beginning of next week revealing the new feature and it's details. Here's a hint... it has to do with Entries.
The other new feature is support for the Touch Punch script which makes jQuery UI touch enabled. Touch Punch is a core WordPress script so we are able to implement this without introducing new scripts within Gravity Forms. The primary benefit of this feature is it makes any functionality that uses jQuery UI's draggable, droppable or sortable touch enabled and will work on touch enabled mobile devices, tablets and touch screens.
Gravity Forms Authorize.Net Add-On v1.4 is now available via automatic update and the Add-On browser. This update makes significant changes under the hood to how Gravity Forms interacts with Authorize.Net when handling recurring payments via the ARB API.
This release introduces a new hook that allows you to utilize the entry id as the invoice number within the Authorize.Net transaction.
