I have WP on a network with GF installed on 2 sites - 1 English, 1 French.
I just need to translate the French error/ validation messages.
I've read through this but can't find the correct calls to use:

Hi Chris - That's my point - I tried taking the code (from the link) and adapting but couldn't find the correct call for the fields - essentially changing gform_name_first and $label etc.
I can paste to pastebin but it's essentially the same.
I'm not sure what to suggest. The code in the developer documentation and in that forum post are correct. If they aren't working it's going to be an implementation issue. Go ahead and use pastebin and provide us a link so we can see your exact code, but the code itself works so if it isn't working it's going to be related to how you have implemented it or something else going on with your site.
