Cannot get form to save after adding checkboxes, multiple choice or dropdown

  1. I have a form, with a few text fields and advanced fields that I added earlier. But now, when I try to add a checkbox field and then click UPDATE FORM, I get an endless "Saving Form, please wait" spinner. Out of curiosity, I also tried adding multiple choice field and a dropdown field. Each of them fail in the same way.

  2. Sounds like a theme or plugin conflict outputting JavaScript in the wp-admin where it should not:

You should start by determining if there is a theme of plugin conflict:

  3. Okay, ruled out a theme or plugin conflict. Disable all the plugins except Gravity Forms and it still happens. Activated 2010 theme and it still happens. Also bumped up the PHP memory limit to 64M. But the problem persists. Oddly enough, if I create a new form and add a checkbox option before anything else, the form will save properly. But as soon as I start adding additional fields, the save option will just spin again.

  4. It's good that you have ruled out plugin and theme conflicts.

    How about this:

There are lots of reasons suggested in that topic. Maybe one of them is relevant to your situation.

  5. This sounds like a MOD_SECURITY firewall issue. What is likely happening is the mod_security settings on your server are blocking the AJAX request which isn't able to save the form. This happens when mod_security settings are too strict. You may need to discuss this with your web host, have them whitelist Gravity Forms so that mod_security doesn't interfere with the AJAX request.

  6. That was precisely the problem. My host Liquid Web had mod_security settings that were interfering. They quickly white-listed it for me, though. Thanks!
