Custom taxonomies on drop-down select boxes?

Hi chaps,

Is there anyway to replace the normal blog post categories, with a set of custom taxonomies?

Is this possible through a hook, similar in the way you can override to custom post types?

Custom Taxonomies are supported via hooks. If you search for custom taxonomy or custom taxonomies on the forum you can find other posts related to this that have code snippets, etc. also search for custom post types if you are interested in those.
