Data Picker not showing dates

    Hi All!

    I am doing a multipage Gravity form with two dates fields on the same page. I have choosen the Date picker option.

    However - it does not show the date container, it sort of collapses. The month and years are working fine.

    I have inserted the form in the regular Wordpress content, enabled Ajax and tried adding the [gravity_form_enqueue_scripts(11, true);] script in my function file addressing the id number of my form.

    Unfortunately its not working.

    I am using Headway 3.0

    Superhappy for quick help!

    Best regards
    Sammet

    Hi!
    Thanks for helping me out!

    Im sorry, but I only have the site on my local disc...
    Any ideas what might be wrong? Maybe I only have to adjust the width of the date container with CSS. I have tried to find the right selector to do this but no luck... Maybe anyone have the right one?

    Happy for all help!
    Best reagards,
    Sammet

    I'm having the exact same issue. Date Picker is just not working. Wonder if it's a style sheet conflict, but I can't find one. URL to the site in question: http://oa-sacredsprings.org/?page_id=38

    Hello -- I'm having date/date picker issues as well. I have tried all of the other options on my GF with no luck. For me all of the dates when output in my custom post type show as Jan 1, 1970. I'm using the Builder theme, Types and Views plugins and the Gravity Forms + Custom Post Types plugin. Here's my url: http://familypracticekamloopsarea.ca/locums/

    codie - your issue is a theme conflict. I am going to e-mail Rob (who is on holidays today) to see if he can help you isolate and sort out the issue.

    Sherry - your issue isn't the same as the others. Is the data stored correctly in the Entries section?

    Hi David -- yes it is correct there. But when it displays -- it's wrong.

    Sherry - Then the data is being saved correctly by Gravity Forms. The Custom Post Types add-on isn't a rocketgenius product, and as such, I can't provide support for it. Please contact the developer, and I'm sure he would be happy to help figure out why your dates are displaying incorrectly.

    Rats -- the Custom Post Types guy said it was a gravity forms issue... so what to do? Do you have any suggestions? A different plugin.. or?

    Did you mention to him that the date was being saved correctly by Gravity Forms in the Entries section? And if he said it was a GF issue, can you have him tell us what he thinks the issue is. From my perspective, if it is saved in the database correctly, then that's all I can do. :$

    Thanks David -- I will forward your comments and see what he says. Thanks for your quick support. I'll be back to you with his reply. :)

  13. @codie - this is definitely a stylesheet issue with the theme. The datepicker is picking up a multitude of styles from the theme. You will either have to try to overwrite and write specific style selectors for the datepicker (this will get involved) or post on the job board and hire someone to do so if you are not comfortable with writing CSS.

    Hi - this is what Themergency said:

    "The GF+CPT plugin only deals with linking taxonomies and does not actually set any custom field values against a post. If there is a problem with the custom fields being saved, then I think the issue may be within gravity forms itself.”

    So is this a GF issue after all? Although the entries in the back end are correct they are not being displayed correctly...

    Hi David - I sent you the info. Thanks!

    So here is the issue: Gravity Forms is passing the date field: mm/dd/yyyy. And the date field expects Month dd, yyyy.

    I don't know enough about CPT to change CPT to expect mm/dd/yyyy like it shows on your front end. Hence the issue you are having. Gravity Forms doesn't support Month dd, yyyy. It supports MANY other date formats, but that's not one of them. If CPT supports any other date format, you should be good to go.

    Thanks David - the quest continues... thanks so much for your help -- at least I have a direction to go. I'm also checking to see if it's a Types issue since the GF+CPT folks insist it's not their plugin. If I find the fix do you want me to send you the info?

    Yes, please send whatever info you find out. It might be a Types issue. Again, it has to do with how our date field and their date field are set-up in terms of what is acceptable. If you can get that date field to accept mm/dd/yyyy or any version that Gravity Forms supports (click the dropdown in Gravity Forms' date field to see the various date formats we support), then it should work fine.

    Hi Sherry,

    I know this thread is two months old but I thought I'd better add a clarifier here. As of Views 1.1.1 there is a known issue with Views conflicting with the GForms date picker:

  21. Hi all: I just upgraded to the developer's license and added a form to a new website. The date picker is not displaying for me. Although the textfield is present and entries are logging, that fancy calendar does not appear. Any idea on what I need to do to make it work?

    Any help is gr8ly appreciated!

    Cheers,

  22. Rob, If you test this form in the form preview, does it work properly? If so, please begin by checking for theme and plugin conflicts by using these tips http://rkt.gs/testing

  25. Hi there: I was wondering if you could shed some light on the situation? If it is determined the theme is the cause of the date picker not showing what are the likely causes?

    My Guesses:

    - JQuery version
    - Missing code in functions.php

    Thanks in advance for any help/advice!

  26. It is likely a JavaScript error due to some functionality in the theme, an old version of jQuery, multiple jQuery libraries being loaded or jQuery being loaded in the footer. Those are the likely causes.

    It can be from other things too, but we'd have to see the conflict live to be able to help.

  27. Thanks Chris. The conflict appears at the bottom of this page http://www.bestwesternpembroke.com/fitness/aqua-fit-classes/.

    Any lead in the right direction would be appreciated :-)

    Thx,

  28. The Gravity Forms datepicker scripts are not being included in your page. This is from the source of a page with a form using a date picker on my site:

    [html]
    <script type='text/javascript' src='http://gravity.chrishajer.com/wp-content/plugins/gravityforms/js/jquery-ui/ui.datepicker.js?ver=1.6.12'></script>
    <script type='text/javascript' src='http://gravity.chrishajer.com/wp-content/plugins/gravityforms/js/datepicker.js?ver=1.6.12'></script>

    Those two scripts are not included in your page.

    I also noticed that this date picker related functionality is commented out in your page:

    [html]
    <!-- link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="http://www.bestwesternpembroke.com/wp-content/themes/bestwest/js/datepick.css" />
    <script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.bestwesternpembroke.com/wp-content/themes/bestwest/js/datepick.js"></script>
    <link rel="pingback" href="http://www.bestwesternpembroke.com/xmlrpc.php" />

    <script type="text/javascript">
    $(function() {
    	$('.DateIn').datepick();
    });
    </script-->

    I'm not sure if the two are related or not.

    I'm not sure why your theme is having trouble with this. Does the theme have a call to wp_head() and wp_footer() in it? I would contact the theme author for their support.
