datepicker flickers when selected

  1. I am calling our form in the template with the php invoke. When I select the date picker, the javascript call seems to cause a white flicker (somtimes large, sometimes small). it looks like the calendar before it gets offset via javascript. it opens just fine, but the flicker is not desired.

I have added the enqueues to my functions.php in wordpress as per the instructions.

Is there anyone who might have seen this issue and knows how to make it stop?

  2. just an update, I used the shortcode to put the form in a regular page, and the datepicker, when selected, still flickers. Anyone have any ideas why this would take place?

  3. The datepicker is a built in jQuery UI function. It isn't something we wrote for Gravity Forms. Any flickering you are encountering could be related to other javascript that exists on your site via your theme or another plugin. So try deactivating all plugins except Gravity Forms and try it using the default Kubrick theme.

It could also be a browser specific issues with jQuery itself. Either way, the calendar is built in jQuery functionality. So we don't control the code on that.

Acts differently in different browsers as well.

  5. I have seen this on a google search, but there were not any responses with possible cuases. I also disabled all my plugins and tested, but the flicker still exists.

  6. Could you post a link to your form so we can take a look? Not sure what we can do, but can't tell until I get a look at it.

  7. Okay, you switched threads on me for second there but I looked at your form in several browsers and couldn't replicate your problem. I don't see any flickering at all when the datepicker is launched.

I checked in IE8, IE7, Firefox, Safari, Chrome on PC and Firefox, Safari and Chrome on Mac.

  9. It's a browser specific issue with the jQuery UI library. It's an issue that has been reported to the jQuery team but it is something that they will need to fix. We use the same jQuery that WordPress uses and this is built in functionality that comes with the jQuery UI library. So hopefully they (the jQuery team) fix it in an update to jQuery.

  10. I did check on a PC and still didn't see the issue. As Carl mentioned, it looks like its up to the jQuery UI team to release an update with the fix.

  11. Just to add to the cases where this was reported, I just experienced this with Firefox 3.6.3 on Windows XP. No response necessary, just wanted to report that I was able to confirm.

    This is the form:

Does not happen with Chrome 6.0.401.1 on XP
