Forms missing after update « Gravity Support Forums

I just clicked on UPDATE AUTOMATICALLY for Gravity Forms and it seems to be now gone altogether? It's not listed under plugins. No deletion confirmation either.

If I check my plugins folder via FTP the Gravity Forms folder is still there though.

Prior to this happening I was having an issue whereby my live form would NOT work but my preview form worked perfectly. Not sure if this is relevant. Upon submission the live form would just reload blank.

Can you please shed some light on this? I'm quite dissapointed to have lost my forms.

It sounds like WordPress flubbed the update/installation process which happens sometimes.

Your forms are stored in the database. If nothing has happened to the tables in the database, then your forms should be fine.

Try completely removing the plugin files then doing a fresh installation/activation and see where you get with that.

Thank you . I got my forms back. I hope you can help me with this.

My live form doesn't process - it just reloads to a blank form. http://aboutthegc.com/free-advertising/

I can't seem to find anything in troubleshooting that explains this. My installation status says that I am running the right versions of everything.

Sorry I should say that I have tested for theme and plugin conflicts and came up with nothing.

I guess the problem you are having is that on submit, it just looks like it refreshes the page?

That page will return a browser header error code 404 (page not found) even though it's clearly visible. That is related to your problem. This is going to be something with the server configuration or the rewriting or permalinks.

There is something weird going on with the domain there.

The page also exists here:
http://aboutthegoldcoast.com.au/free-advertising/

And even though that page is visible, it returns a 404 code as well.

There is something strange going on with your WordPress installation.

This page returns a 301 (moved) header:
http://aboutthegoldcoast.com.au/?p=1549

This page returns a 404:
http://aboutthegc.com/?p=1549

There is something unique about your installation. If you turn off pretty permalinks, can you submit the form?

The fact that the form preview submits properly makes me think it's something with your permalinks.

Thanks Chris. You know what I can see all this 301 and 404 stuff going on in my webmasters reports, which aint good. Godaddy is my host and they have been less than helpful. I've had a suspicion that my issues are tied to their custom 404 pages which does affect the behaviour of permalinks. Time for a new host I think. I will let you know the outcome.

@tiktacs I'm not surprised GoDaddy has not been helpful. They are one web host we definitely would never recommend anyone use. If you are on one of their Windows servers, the issue is most likely going to be related to URL rewriting problems. They are also notorious for email related problems.
