{Email:#)? in Number to put in From Email field

  1. How do you know which number to put in next to the {Email:#} entry? Same thing for Name option. Trying to put in "From Name" and "Reply To" fields so an admin can just directly reply to a submission.

We don't know the number as it changes for each form. It is the ID number of the field on your form. When crafting notifications, you should see an arrow to the right of most boxes that allows you to quickly select merge tags for fields on your form. (If you are using 1.7.2)

  3. Ah, yes. I had to switch to a different theme to get those to show up. There has to be a better solution then moving the site to maintenance mode, switching to a different theme, making the edits, then switch back to original theme, then return to live mode.

Can you check to see if No Conflict Mode is on under Forms -> Settings? If not, can you turn it on and see if that rectifies your issue?

Strange that you have to change your theme to use Gravity Forms correctly. Have you contacted your theme author about this? It is likely they are outputting scripts on all Admin pages, when they should just putting them on their own.
