Wordpress Widget Text Inside Field

  1. I'm working on the site here: http://dochopkins.datacomplete.com/ this is a wordpress site.

I would like to streamline the form so that the field name is inside of the field itself, same for email and phone. The user would click on the field with the name in the field and then the name would go away they'd be able to add their information. You can call it placeholder text. I'd prefer to have just one form, and use the widget option for the sidebar.

Also, how do i do a conditional, if the user fills in the last field, then automagically there are more questions that can be asked. This would all be part of the same form, but only show the first part of the form fields and when the user gets further down the form there are additional fields to fill out.

  2. I have a similar question, but mine relates to using the newsletter opt in a widget area that is not connected to theme itself.

I am using http://www.marketercms.com and trying to use GravityForms widget on homepage above testimonials bar...

    Any suggestions?

p.s. Yost plugin doesnt work. and adding the shortcode to the testimonials side bar file via the editor just shows the short code plain as text... ?

  3. Also, how do I get the actual html syntax code (raw) for the form - in case I want to drop it in raw (not as a shortcode)

  4. @taylorr, please begin a new topic for each of your individual issues. It's difficult to give everyone individual support when there are multiple unrelated issues in one topic. Thank you.

  5. @bczubiak, for your first question, placeholder text is not yet included in Gravity Forms. It's a feature of HTML5. For now, you can add the functionality in a couple different ways:

  6. For your second question, conditional logic is built in to Gravity Forms. It does not work strictly like you described it (it requires a drop down, check box or radio button to reveal more input fields) but you can accomplish what you need.

Here is a description of the conditional logic feature:

  7. I found this plugin that works really well. Gravity Forms - Placeholders add-on You can download it here: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/gravity-forms-placeholders/

To use, just add "gplaceholder" the the CSS Class Name in the Advanced option for each field you want the placeholder text to appear.
