Wrong Password Being Sent

  1. Hello,

I am using the Registration Add On for my Buddypress site. So I created a form and matched up the fields with the registration settings.

The issue I am having is that a user enters in his own password (twice) however when I receive the WP email that tells me my username and password, the password is wrong.

Is this an issue with the Registration Add on? or perhaps I am doing something wrong?

  2. Is this related?

What version of all the software are you using?

  3. I am using WP version 3.2.1 and Buddypress version 1.5.2.

  4. So the issue seems to be with the GF Registration form.

What I did was revert back to my original BP registration form, and when I signed up I received the "activation" email. I was also able to log in with the password that I had created.

Is there a reason why, when using GF as the registration form the BP activation email does not get sent also?

  5. Hi Trew,

Email Activation is simply a feature that is not yet supported. It is definitely something we want to support moving forward.

As far as the wrong password coming through, are you sure you have the password field mapped correctly? I did a local test and the password came through correctly as entered in the form submission.

  6. I am pretty sure I have the password fields mapped correctly

On my Form I used the "Password" Advanced Field. I believe this is the only allowed field to be used for passwords with the Registration Add On.

Then In my User Registration Settings I have the Password field mapped to the one in my form (the only other option is for an auto-generated password)

  7. I have also been experiencing the phenomenon with one of my forms.

  8. Hi Trewknowledge,

If you could, send me a WP Login and FTP access to your site. I'll step through the code and see what is happening. You can send this info via the Contact Us form add ATTN David in the message body and include a link to this topic.

  9. The problem seemed to have fixed itself. Perhaps it was something to do with my server.
